ABOUT GLEAM
LOA: 69’ Beam: 11’ Draft: 9’
Designed by renowned naval architect Clinton Crane as his own racing yacht, Gleam enjoyed a very successful early career as a 12Metre thoroughbred winning regattas from NYC to Newport. Later in her career, when the 12M design became the designated Americas Cup Class, Gleam served as a "trial horse" for numerous local and international campaigns. Her speed has always been respected, and to train alongside Gleam was a true test for any new yacht that hoped to win The America’s Cup.
Gleam later fell into disrepair, but ultimately was rescued in 1970 by Robert H. Tiedemann. She became the first chartering 12Metre in Newport, RI and has continued to sail and win races throughout New England. Over the course of her career, Gleam has been cherished by sailors and enthusiasts all over the world.
We look forward to sailing with you!
